Cristiano Ronaldo under investigation by Saudi Arabian authorities for 'immoral' gesture

Controversy over Cristiano Ronaldo's gesture to the crowd at a Saudi Arabian stadium after his team Al Nassr's 3-2 win over Al Shabab has prompted the relevant authorities to consider sanctioning him.
CR7, who scored one of his team's goals, was «harassed» by fans of the rival team for long periods of the match with cries of «Messi, Messi», so the Portuguese exploded and went to the stands with an«immoral» gesture, as sources in the Arab country explained.
The local media, Asharq Al-Awsat, analyzed the incident after consulting several sources in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF).
«The Disciplinary Committee began opening an investigation into the 'immoral gesture' made by Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo in front of Al-Shabab fans, which caused resentment among many spectators and attendees,» the media outlet said.
«According to sources, the Disciplinary Commission will immediately study the situation captured on videos during the end of the match, and the decision will be issued in the next two days,» it added.
Despite being the leading scorer in the Arab league with 22 goals, three goals ahead of his closest challenger, Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic, CR7 has been the target of such chants in numerous matches in the current Arab league season.
