Bad news for Al Nassr: Cristiano Ronaldo will not be available for their next game against Al Hazem. The player has been suspended with a one-match ban for his obscene gestures after scoring against Al Shabab.
In addition to missing Al Nassr's next match, according to Saudi media 'Arriyadiyah', the Portuguese player will have to pay 7,376 euros. This has been decided by the country's football federation.
After scoring, the former Real Madrid man took his hands to his crotch, which would violate article 57.1 of the rules. "Any person who disturbs public order by actions, words or gestures during any match will be suspended with a shock and will be punished with a fine of 2,459 euros," it reads.
In addition to the 2,459 euros he will have to pay to the Federation, a further 4,918 euros will have to be paid to Al Shabab to cover the costs incurred by the club in lodging the complaint.
Cristiano explained that he did not mean to offend anyone with his gestures and simply wanted to express "vigour and victory". Al Nassr, in any case, do not intend to appeal, so they are already preparing for the next match without the Portuguese striker.
