In truth, it was a somewhat ironic sight to see Nunez inadvertently score with his rear end. After all, whenever a striker is struggling for form, the old adage points out how they are in need of a goal going in off their backside to reignite their fortunes.
The 24-year-old has perhaps gone through his fair share of lean spells as he comes towards the end of his second season on Anfield. With rival supporters regularly ridiculing him as just a s**t Andy Carroll, he has been responsible for a plethora of big chances missed, be it denied by the woodwork, opposing goalkeepers, or just mediocre finishing.
