Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has provided insight into his role as a modern-day full-back, admitting that he relishes the opportunity to help the team's attackers.
Dalot had a 100 per cent tackle-win rate, he completed all of his dribbles and won 80 per cent of his duels against Manchester City, but United still suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Etihad.
Despite that loss, the Portuguese international was one of a handful of players to emerge with a degree of credit from the derby and he's regained his starting role this season after a battle with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has been absent for the last two months with an unknown issue.

Dalot provides more value in attacking scenarios than Wan-Bissaka and he signed a five-year contract extension in May, which suggests he could stay at United for years to come.
He recently spoke to club media about his role and said: "I think, nowadays, people are a little bit more aware and educated about it now, which are the positions that require a little bit more of a physical output.
"Obviously, if you're a midfielder and a full-back, you will run a little bit more than probably a winger or centre-back. But that's just part of the game nowadays.
"We need to adapt constantly and we just need to [do it], especially in a league like the Premier League, which is high intensity, high tempo and everything is the highest speed and on the hardest level. So you need to be ready."
