Mohamed Salah has suggested that Liverpool teammate Cody Gakpo does not always get the praise he deserves from supporters. The Netherlands international completed the move to Anfield from PSV in last season's January transfer window with the Reds beating Arsenal and Manchester United to his signature.
Gakpo's first 14 months in Merseyside have been mixed to say the least with the 24-year-old impressing in a new role during Liverpool's injury crisis. Despite facing some criticism, he has contributed to 18 goals this season, which is more than both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in all competitions, and he will likely play a key role in the final months of the season, with seven games to come in the next 21 days.
Klopp has been without Diogo Jota and Salah during 2024, however the latter is back fit and the Portugal international is not far off, with another key star back in contention to face Sheffield United on Thursday evening.

"Curtis Jones is in full training and is in contention," Klopp said. "Yes, that is it pretty much. The boys are doing well, Diogo and Trent are together in a group which helps both but it just looks like next week hopefully in parts of team training and then we will see the rest."
With title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City resting pivotal players in their midweek clashes against Luton and Aston Villa, respectively, Klopp may feel the need to make similar decisions.
