Arsenal Sporting Director Edu has opened up on his side's chances of winning the Premier League title this season. The north Londoners currently sit top of the pile after 14 games, two points clear of second-placed Liverpool and three ahead of Manchester City in third.
But Edu has refused to get drawn into predicting the outcome of the title race, merely praising Mikel Arteta's men when asked about their chances of lifting the trophy come May. "I think we are doing very well," the Brazilian told Amazon Prime when asked about the Gunners' title hopes.
«We are in a very good moment and I see the players with a lot of confidence and Mikel (Arteta) is good and is in the right place. I see our squad and the balance of it in a good place as well, so I think it’s still a bit too soon to talk about those things because there are so many fixtures left — we haven’t even reached the middle of the season yet.
»The most important thing is to be the way we are at the moment — concentrated, focused on performances and see where we are going to finish." Edu's comments just a few hours after City boss Pep Guardiola predicted his side to lift the crown again this term.
«My feeling today is that we are going to win the Premier League,» Guardiola told the press ahead of their clash with Aston Villa. «Playing like we did against Liverpool and Tottenham, we are going to win it.
