England players ‘cracking on’ despite Ben White snub - but Jordan Pickford won’t judge Arsenal man
Jordan Pickford has played down the impact of Ben White's decision to turn down an England call-up, but says he won't judge the Arsenal defender for not joining up with Gareth Southgate's camp.
Pickford is among the group preparing for international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium this week, as the Three Lions continue preparations for this summer's European Championships in Germany.
Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Branthwaite and Kobbie Mainoo are all hoping to play their first game for England but White decided not to join the England camp this time.
Gareth Southgate said last week that White doesn't want to play for England right now, even though he went to the Euros and the World Cup in past years.
White left theWorld Cup in Qatar early for «personal reasons» and there were rumours about him not getting along with assistant Steve Holland. But Southgate said last week that they didn't have any problems.
When asked about White not wanting to come back to play for England, Pickford said: «Nothing's been said. We just crack on as normal. That's his own decision and you never know what's happening at home, so you can't really judge anyone I would say.
»But, for me, I love nothing more than wearing the England shirt and when I get the opportunity I grab it with both hands, which I've done for the last six, seven years. There's not a better buzz than putting the England shirt on."
