Jamie Carragher has labelled Farhad Moshiri one of 'English football's worst-ever owners' following the news of Everton breaching profit and sustainability rules for a second time.
The Blues discovered their disastrous fate on Monday afternoon when the Premier League announced the club has fallen foul of its guidelines once again, having already been deducted 10 points back in November.
Everton's latest charge could result in a second points deduction or a fine, continuing the chaotic chain of events that have unfolded at Goodison Park within the last 18 months.
The figure at the centre of such problems is Moshiri, whose reign on Merseyside has gone from bad to worse since taking ownership in 2016. Recognising the Toffees' latest blow is symptomatic of his incompetent leadership, Carragher said: "Moshiri’s legacy is a shambles. The crisis engulfing the club is down to him and yet his silence – and that of some of his former Goodison executives – is deafening. Everything that led Everton to this point begins with Moshiri and those who ran the club so badly on his behalf.

"One of the most extraordinary revelations after the verdict of the independent commission in November was that the former chief executive, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, and finance director Grant Ingles chose not to co-operate to help clarify the club’s accounts. Their conduct is nothing short of appalling.
"There is such a vacuum at the top of Goodison Park, the only person who is fighting the fight for Everton in 2024 is the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.
