The agent of Florian Wirtz has played down suggestions that the Bayer Leverkusen attacker could be on the move during this summer's transfer window amid reports of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has been in impressive form for Leverkusen during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring eight goals and registering 17 assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Wirtz has five goals and 10 assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances, two goals and four assists in four Europa League outings, and one goal and three assists in four German Cup matches, with Leverkusen chasing a treble this season under in-demand head coach Xabi Alonso.
Liverpool are said to be determined to appoint Alonso as their next manager, with Jurgen Klopp preparing to leave this summer, and there have been claims that Wirtz could follow the Spaniard to Anfield.
Meanwhile, Man United are believed to be huge admirers of the attacker, who has 31 goals and 47 assists in 134 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions since debuting in 2020.
However, Wirtz's representative and his father has said that the Germany international is likely to remain with his current club until the end of his contract in 2027.
«Florian has a contract in Leverkusen until 2027,» Hans-Joachim Wirtz told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger. «That is roughly how long he will stay at Leverkusen.
»There's no answer what will happen when. We should wait for the next two years and then we'll see what happens.
«Florian is very lucky to have Xabi Alonso, who brings a lot of qualities. He has a great relationship with the whole team. It's the right coach at the right time.»
