Robert Lewandowski has insisted that he preferred to play under Jurgen Klopp rather than Pep Guardiola having been managed by both in his career.

Klopp, the legendary German manager, has only won the Premier League once but did guide Liverpool to Champions League glory along with an FA Cup and two Carabao Cup victories. After nine amazing years, Klopp will bid farewell to Anfield at the end of the season but will always be remembered as a Liverpool icon.

When we think of Klopp's achievements, it's hard not to match them against what Pep Guardiola has done at Manchester City. Due to Klopp's leadership, his Liverpool side remained a tough competitor for Guardiola's otherwise dominant team.

Few footballers have had the opportunity to play under both of these managers, but Lewandowski is one. In his time with Borussia Dortmund under Klopp, Lewandowski scored an impressive 102 goals in 186 appearances before netting a magnificent 67 times in 100 matches when Guardiola was coaching him at Bayern Munich.

It's no surprise that, back in 2020, Lewandowski revealed his admiration for both coaches, placing Klopp slightly ahead of Guardiola. The former Barcelona striker then described the qualities that helped Klopp outshine his Catalonian rival, even though the very same attributes are still evident in his current management style at Liverpool.
