A "forgotten" country pub has been transformed and "saved" from failure.
The Montgomery Pub and Kitchen, on Stanley Lane, in Eastham Village has been given a £150,000 refurbishment. As well as new management and a new kitchen team, the revamp includes fresh décor throughout.
Described as a "hidden gem" the pub is nestled away in a picturesque little parish nestled between New Chester Road and Eastham Country Park. Filled with character and a beer garden, pub management are hoping to cement the venue as one of the best in the region.
Local landlord Gary Runacus recruited a new head chef, Daniel Billinge to lead the kitchen team, meaning it now offers food seven days a week. On the menu there are premium beers, real ales, fine wines and gastro pub dishes, made using locally sourced produce.
