Didier Deschamps' side bounced back after a disappointing defeat to Germany
France put their weekend defeat to Germany behind them by defeating Chile 3-2 at the Stade Orange Velodrome in Marseille on Tuesday night.
The result will boost the morale of Les Bleus, especially as it comes just days after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Germany over the weekend.
Chile wasted no time in opening the scoring after just six minutes. After some excellent work down the right, Mauricio Isla's cutback found the feet of Marcelino Nunez, and the Norwich City midfielder made no mistake in slotting past Mike Maignan.
It was the second time in as many matches that France were caught flat-footed in the opening exchanges, and things didn't get any better soon after when Jonathan Clauss was forced off with what looked like a muscular problem, with Jules Kounde brought on in his place.
Despite the setback, France levelled proceedings just before the 20 minute mark. Youssouf Fofana's shot from just outside the area seemed to be deflected, with the awkward bounce giving Claudio Bravo no chance.
The home side turned things around in the 25th minute courtesy of Randal Kolo Muani, who rose above his defender to get on the end of a pinpoint Theo Hernandez cross.
Although France had managed to turn things around on the scoreboard, they were dealt another injury blow before the end of the first half whenEduardo Camavinga pulled up and was replaced byMatteo Guendouzi.
Unlike the first half, there were no early fireworks as both sides were unable to carve out any real chances. Home fans were on alert though when Kolo Muani went down after coming together with a Chilean player, but he was able to continue.
All doubts as to who would win the match were put to bed
