A scent that keeps mice at bay is being hailed as a solution to household pets.

Mice hate the smell but so do insects, rats, skunks, moles, groundhogs and more. A quick spray around your baseboards, entryways and other problem areas will prevent them from stepping into unwanted territory.
You can also dip cotton balls into straight peppermint oil and leave them sitting at entry points. Just remember to replace them every few weeks once the smell has run its course.
