Fresh Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal transfer verdict as Liverpool ace laughs off deal

Kylian Mbappe will not be moving to Liverpool this summer, according to defender Ibrahima Konate, opening the door for Arsenal to make a big move. But, in the same breath, Konate has effectively ruled anyone in England out of signing the France superstar.

Mbappe's contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends at the end of the season, and the player is said to be looking for a fresh start. Any move would conclude a long-standing story about his future following seven great years playing in French capital.

During the summer, Al-Hilal of Saudi Pro League reportedly pitched an incredible £259million deal for Mbappe but were turned away by PSG. He has been on Real Madrid's radar for some time, and Arsenal and Liverpool also often come into the same conversation in relation to expressing interest in the forward.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta even opened up on the rumours during his press conference this week. He said: "When there is a player of that calibre we always have to be in the conversation. But … it looks to be in a different way."

Arteta referencing Real Madrid in a 'different way' was what Konate whnt on to say too. Speaking after the 4-1 win over Brentford, the Reds defender told Canal+: «Do you really think he is going to come over here? I think we all know where he is going to go.»

Even Liverpool's manager, Jurgen Klopp faced questions about the French phenom before Saturday's 4-1 victory over Brentford. Although, the German brushed off such speculation and even stated that he'd be «surprised» if all the top clubs were not eyeing him.
