Arsenal are on the lookout for a centre-forward in the summer to help take the team to new heights.Gabriel Jesus’ persistent injury issues and Eddie Nketiah’s limited contributions have sparked calls from the fanbase to find a new number nine and it appears the club are responding.
Sporting director Edu Gaspar spoke to TNT Sports ahead of the win over Newcastle and made it clear he was aware of the transfer calls. He said: «I understand why the fans are asking for [a No.9] but we already have our targets planned, we know what we’re going to face, and I’d be worried if we weren’t scoring goals or creating chances but we are doing that right now. The plan is to try and get better every year, we’re at a good moment right now and so it’s about improving step-by-step.»
