Gary Neville singles out one 'terrible' Arsenal star after praise for multiple team-mates

Gary Neville has singled out David Raya for his poor performance against Manchester City, claiming he was 'terrible' and kept 'falling over'. The 28-year-old goalkeeper managed to keep a clean sheet at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, giving Arsenal a huge boost in the Premier League title race.

Raya only had to stop one shot thanks to Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba. But when the Spaniard assist in the build-up play, Neville was far from impressed. Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Manchester United defender said: «Raya's kicking has been terrible. It's not helping him that he keeps falling over as he kicks it.»

Fans also noticed Raya was taking too long on during the match. The on-loan Brentford shot-stopper was eventually shown a yellow card by Anthony Taylor for his antics. In spite of this, he will have been pleased with his performance, having kept his second clean sheet against the reigning champions this season.

Raya became the first opposition goalkeeper to keep a Premier League clean sheet against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium since Vicente Guaita did so for Crystal Palace in October 2021. While Mikel Arteta's side weren't able to come away with all three points, the Gunners boss was content.
