'Got absolutely everything' - Harry Redknapp hails Arsenal star after Brighton win

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has said that Arsenal defender William Saliba is one of the best defenders in the world — and his partnership withGabriel Magalhaes key to the Gunners' title challenge.

Mikel Arteta’s side kept their fourth clean sheet in a row in all competitions in a 3-0 win against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening. Goals fromBukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard made it another comfortable afternoon for Arsenal as they rose back to the top of the table.

That is where they will stay until at least the weekend, thanks to Manchester United holding Liverpool to a draw 24 hours later. The Gunners are top due to their superior goal difference.

That has been helped by a defence that has not conceded many goals in the last few weeks. It was Saliba’s performance against Brighton that was picked out by Redknapp.

“What a player William Saliba is,” he told BetVictor when naming him Premier League team of the week. “There aren’t many better in world football. He’s got absolutely everything you’d want in a modern centre-half, and he’s been unbeatable in recent weeks. Arsenal’s defence is so solid at the minute, keeping yet another clean sheet against Brighton, and a lot of that is down to this lad and his partnership with Gabriel.”

Saliba wasn't the only Arsenal player included in Redknapp’s team of the week. Kai Havertz also earned praise after playing a part in two of the three goals.
