Glenn Hoddle and Gary Neville have predicted whether or not Arsenal will defeat Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinal first-leg. Mikel Arteta will welcome the German giants to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as either side hopes to get their hands on some silverware.
The Gunners will be determined to extend their winning streak after enjoying a 3-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich head into the clash following a disastrous 3-2 defeat on the road to Heidenheim.
Harry Kane and Serge Gnabry fired the Bavarians ahead in the first half before the home side netted three after the break. Bayern Munich have now lost each of their last two games, and Hoddle 'fancies' Arsenal to progress into the semi-finals.
Speaking on TNT Sports, the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur icon said: «I do fancy their chances. I’ve watched Bayern Munich quite a bit this season and they’re not functioning anywhere near they should be.
»Harry Kane is a danger, of course, and wouldn’t it be ironic if that boy knocked Arsenal out. But over two legs I really fancy Arsenal, I think they will go through. I fancy them against Bayern Munich."
However, Hoddle believes Arsenal don't have what it takes to win the competition. He added: «It’s the toughest route to win it. I’m not sure they’ll have enough to beat Real Madrid or Man City over two legs but we saw last weekend how well they played against City.
