Atalanta chief executive officer Luca Percassi insists his side negotiated a 'great price' for Rasmus Hojlund over the summer.
Manchester United signed Hojlund in a deal worth £72million after Erik ten Hag identified the 20-year-old as a top target to fill a priority position. The Dutchman had initially earmarked Harry Kane as the prime option but funds were not available to make it happen.
Hojlund's start to life at United has been mixed, with the Danish international ruled out for the first month of his spell due to a back injury that was flagged during medical tests. Since returning, he has looked excellent in the Champions League and scored twice against boyhood club FC Copenhagen on Wednesday - albeit in a 4-3 defeat.

"We sold Hojlund for a great price and that makes us proud," Percassi told Sky Sports Italy [via Football Italia]. "We have many collaborators, some of them silent, who work well behind the scenes to find these talents.
"We know who we are and where we come from. That mentality will never change."
That brace in Denmark took Hojlund to five goals in four Champions League appearances, but the striker is yet to score in the Premier League. United's start to the domestic season has been horribly inconsistent, with Ten Hag's side unable to build on wins over the likes of Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Fulham.
United welcome Luton Town to Old Trafford on Saturday in the final game before the November international break. It will provide Hojlund with another excellent opportunity to get off the mark in England.
