Robbie Savage has teased former Tottenham striker Harry Kane following Liverpool's victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool won their tenth League Cup after a header from Virgil van Dijk in extra-time decided the match, avoiding a penalty shootout at Wembley for the third consecutive final between Chelsea and Liverpool.
Several young players from Liverpool's academy played key roles in Jurgen Klopp's side's victory. James McConnell, Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns were brought on as substitutes as Klopp sought a winning goal, and they handled the pressure with impressive maturity.
For Danns, this was only his second time playing for the senior team, and he celebrated by winning a major trophy. This is something that Spurs and England's record goalscorer, Kane, is yet to achieve as he continues to seek his first piece of silverware.
The former Tottenham striker, who now plays for Bayern Munich, looks set to finish the season without any medals as with Bayer Leverkusen eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, leaving his trophy dream in tatters. Savage told Planet Sport Bet: «Liverpool winning their 10th League Cup on Sunday is the greatest achievement they've made under Jurgen Klopp, even bigger than their Champions League victory.
»In the Champions League final, they were expected to win. On this occasion, with their injuries, I'd say they were near enough underdogs. I just think the fact it was against all odds, with the changes they were forced to make, and the youngsters on the pitch it really is a brilliant achievement.
