Manchester United will sign Sergio Reguilon on deadline day, setting up an awkward reunion with Harry Maguire.
The Tottenham defender is set to sign for the Red Devils on loan, helping to provide cover at left-back.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are out injured and Man United also abandoned their pursuit of Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, leading them to turn to the Spurs star.
But it hasn't been long since former club captain Harry Maguire, who was expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, had a X-rated encounter with the Spain international.
Just 10 minutes into Man United's game against Spurs in 2021, Maguire was furious with the Spaniard as the north London side won a free kick.
Paul Pogba had attempted to put in a tackle on Reguilon but was judged to have fouled him after putting his arm across the full-back.
But Maguire clearly didn't think the Spurs star deserved a free kick and was heard saying: «Hey Sergio, f*** off».
To make matters worse for Maguire and Man United, Spurs went ahead just before the break through Heung-Min Son. However, the Red Devils turned it around thanks to goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.
Spurs gave Reguilon permission to travel to Manchester to complete a medical on Thursday, with the Spaniard now set sign for the former Premier League champions.
Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid for around £30m in 2020 and spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Maguire — who had his captaincy stripped this summer — has not played a single minute for Erik ten Hag's side this season after falling down the centre-back pecking order behind Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
