How Arsenal could lineup if Edu completes Alexander Isak Newcastle transfer raid amid FFP threat

According to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, the Magpies are among the clubs to have been hit «hardest» by the «non increase» of the Premier League's profit and sustainability limits.

Newcastle CEO Darren Eales admitted when announcing the figures that decisions would have to be made on player sales, although the Magpies are not exactly planning on selling their most prized assets. However, they could be forced to make some tough decisions in the not-too-distant future to ensure they remain in line with financial restrictions.

The vultures would undoubtedly circle for Newcastle's best players should they need to bring in some quick cash and there is one in particular that should be of interest to Arsenal — Alexander Isak. The striker has shone since arriving in the north east in the summer of 2022.

Isak has scored 24 goals in 50 appearances for the Magpies — almost a goal every other game — and he could have already been scoring them for the Gunners. The Gunners decided against pursuing a deal to sign Isak in 2021 themselves and ended the month without signing anyone to bolster their front-line.
