James Garner has urged Everton supporters to get behind the team rather than booing - and admitted he is eagerly awaiting the outcome of the club’s Premier League appeal.
Amadou Onana scored a late header to cancel out Jordan Ayew's opener to secure the Blues a point against Crystal Palace on Monday night. Everton climbed out of the bottom three as a result of the draw but remain level on points with 18th-placed Luton Town, who have played a game less, while Palace are five points better off in 15th.
As referee Paul Tierney blew his whistle for half-time and then full-time, it was greeted with boos from some inside Goodison Park, who had been left less than impressed by the performance served up by their side.

Asked about the boos, Garner replied: “I can understand the fans’ frustrations, but there is so long to go [in the season], and we need the fans to be supporting us and not booing us. That is important going forward."
Everton have now failed to win a game in the Premier League since beating Burnley on December 16. But Garner has called on his side to show the same urgency for 90 minutes as they did in the final quarter against the Eagles.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game, but I feel like it is one that has definitely got away from us," he said. "It was a very frustrating night.
“They are a good side and I’m not sure whether we were off the pace, but we did create a few chances and didn’t manage to put them away.
