The loan adventures of Tottenham's 13 players out across England and Europe continued this week with mixed fortunes and game time for them all.
Spurs have a large contingent of players out on loan at clubs across the Premier League and Football League as well as at sides in Turkey, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. They got a varying array of minutes due to differing reasons but there was a big return for one player who had been ruled out for the season.
Here's how the 13 Tottenham loan players have got on over the past week:
Ivan Perisic joined Hajduk Split on loan until the end of his Spurs contract this summer and has agreed a deal to then play for the Croatian team next season. He was not expected back from his cruciate ligament injury until April at the earliest with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou saying before he left that the experienced winger would not be fit in time to play for Tottenham this season.
However, the Croatian is known as a quick healer and so it has proved after he was named on the bench, albeit as an unused substitute, for Hadjuk's 1-0 league win against Istra at the weekend.
«He expressed his desire to be on the bench, to be with the team. That's positive,» said his head coach Mislav Karoglan.
In another boost for the 35-year-old, Perisic has been called up for the Croatian national football team, after his international coach Zlatko Dalić announced the list of players for the international friendly tournament — the W Cup — which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from March 22 to 26.
