Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to see two new debutants provide the bounceback his Chelsea side needs against relegation-threatened Sheffield United when they travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues could finally see both Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia make their full debuts for the side after the pair arrived in the summer. Nkunku has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee injury in preseason while Lavia's late move from Southampton saw him arrive unfit before an ankle issue a few weeks ago kept him out of contention for even longer.
Elsewhere, captain Reece James is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines once again after suffering a hamstring problem against Everton last weekend. It means the captain's armband will likely fall to Conor Gallagher on the weekend for the eighth time this season and with that said, football.london has taken a look at the latest injury news and return dates from Stamford Bridge.
After returning to full fitness last month, James' injury problems continued on Sunday. He was replaced by Levi Colwill before heading straight down the tunnel at Goodison Park after less than 35 minutes and it's now believed that the club could make him undergo surgery if asked.
football.london understands the Chelsea club captain will now miss «a few months» through injury. On Instagram, James revealed he was «devastated» by his latest setback.
