James Tarkowski names 'maddest' Everton team-mate he 'falls out with constantly'

Everton defender James Tarkowski has revealed how demanding it is to play with Jordan Pickford - insisting he always "falls out" with the goalkeeper due to his ruthless leadership approach.

Pickford, who made the move to Goodison Park from boyhood club Sunderland back in 2017 - in a deal worth £30m - has earned himself a reputation as not only one of the Premier League's best in class during his six years on Merseyside but also one of the most vocal shot-stoppers.

The 29-year-old, who has since made over 250 appearances for the Goodison Park club, has also asserted himself as England's No.1 goalkeeper, featuring in three major international tournaments since Gareth Southgate was appointed Three Lions boss.

Everton team-mate Tarkowski, who has played with Pickford since making the move to Goodison Park from Burnley, has opened up on why the former Sunderland shot-stopper has enjoyed such success, admitting the demands he places on his team-mates are unforgiving.

"I've played with some top, top goalies and they have all got their own strengths, in their own different ways. But, yeah, they're all top-end goalies," said Tarkowski, talking to former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster.

"He's [Jordan Pickford] probably the maddest, to be honest. He's crackers. Off the pitch, he's actually alright - he's quite calm. On the pitch, he's just bonkers. Me and him fall out constantly.
