Jamie Carragher has provided Liverpool with a points target that he believes would see the club win the Premier League.
The Reds are preparing to return to league action and resume their title run-in against Brighton on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp’s side are second in the table, behind leaders Arsenal on goal difference and a point ahead of Manchester City in a title race that threatens to go down to the wire.
Liverpool will hope to ramp up the pressure with a win as Man City prepare to host Arsenal on Sunday in a clash that could indirectly boost the Reds’ title hopes. Liverpool legend Carragher believes he understands how many points Jurgen Klopp’s team will need to earn to win the second league title of his managerial reign.

“I was looking at what you might need to do during the international break and I think 90 points,” Carragher said on The Overlap fan debate, sponsored by Sky Bet. “That would mean Liverpool dropping four points from where they are, that would be City dropping four points.
“I actually think everyone is looking at Arsenal’s fixtures and thinking, ‘I could see Arsenal dropping more than four points’ with the away games that you’ve got. Winning [against Man City] and the belief it would give [Arsenal] in the other away games if you can go to City and win, you’ll believe you can go to Old Trafford and win, you’ll believe you you can go to Tottenham and win.”
