Joe Willock receives special gift from Bukayo Saka after Arsenal classy gesture during Newcastle win

Joe Willock received a post-match gift from his former Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka on his return to north London on Saturday. The gift came after the Gunners smashed Eddie Howe's side 4-1.

Willock came off the bench in the 73rd minute against his old team and quickly made his mark, scoring a goal just 10 minutes later. This was his first game for Newcastle since November.

And, after the match, Willock took some time to catch up with Saka and his other former team-mates in the tunnel and was even gifted Saka's match-worn shirt. He said: «I'm grateful for my reception that I got from the Arsenal fans. They gave me a good reception. Arsenal gave me a lot during my career.

»I was there since I was four and a half, so they gave me a lot, and I'm thankful for them, but today playing for Newcastle United and losing was a bit disappointing."

Some Arsenal fans clapped for Willock's late goal, as it didn't change the outcome of the match. Willock had spent nearly 17 years with Arsenal before deciding to move to Newcastle for more playing time.

On the game, Willock told TNT Sports: «We knew what we were getting into when we came here; they [Arsenal] are a really top side, they play good football. In the first half, I thought we could've done better but I thought second half we reacted and we have to take the second half to the next game.»
