Chelsea legend John Terry sent Ben Chilwell his best wishes on the left-back’s birthday.
Terry, 43, has not played for the Blues since 2017. However, he is a devout supporter of the football club and enjoys a good relationship with many of the Chelsea players.
So, on Chilwell’s birthday, Terry commented “Happy Birthday” in response to the Chelsea Official Instagram account’s celebratory announcement. He reinforced the bromance by tagging the 27-year-old in the comment with a blue heart emoji.
Jack Grealish, Thiago Silva and Reece James are three other notable personalities who also passed on their best wishes to the Chilwell. But the birthday greetings are not the only source of good news for the former Leicester City man, who is hoping to get back into action in the not too distant future.
As reported by football.london, Chilwell is expected to return to Chelsea very soon after being sidelined since September. Mauricio Pochettino had regularly used Chilwell on the wing and he will be grateful to bring his versatility back into the fold.
Chelsea make huge Reece James surgery decision as Mauricio Pochettino faces injury reality
Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali has already made European Super League stance crystal clear
He started Chelsea's first four games before dropping to the bench in a surprise defeat to Nottingham Forest. He then came off the bench in a draw against Bournemouth before suffering his hamstring injury.
A return to action would also help boost his chances of making the England squad. Club team-mate Levi Colwill has made the left-back slot his own for much of the season while Gareth Southgate has often deployed Luke Shaw and Kieran Trippier in that role.
