Fans were filled with excitement at the latest announcement for Liverpool Comic Con which "just keeps getting better".
The convention will take place in Liverpool's Exhibition Centre from May 4-5 this year. The annual gathering sees prominent names from film, animation, television, comics and more come together to meet fans, speak at panels and sometimes share exclusive announcements.
On Wednesday, the convention announced actor and director Kevin Smith would be added to the guest line up. In a further announcement today, Comic Con confirmed the actor would be joined by his Silent Bob counterpart Jason Mewes.

Fans took to social media to share their excitement at the news. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Rob Walker hoped Jason Mewes would appear at the convention before the news was confirmed.
He said: "Dude, Liverpool comic con is just getting better and better. If @JayMewes doesn't get invited could you smuggle him in? We need Jay and silent bob in Liverpool."
Wendy Bolton said: "I can't believe you have Jay and Silent Bob. Wow! xx" Shannon Savannah added: "No I can’t cope I was actually gonna dress up with my son as Jay and Silent Bob this Comic Con before they were even announced, boss!"
Jason Mewes is best known for playing Jay, the vocal half of the duo Jay and Silent Bob, in long time friend Kevin Smith's films. Together the pair came to prominence with the low-budget comedy buddy film Clerks, which Kevin wrote, directed, co-produced, and starred in.
