The long wait to see Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham team take to the pitch once again is almost over. Having last played against Luton Town two weeks ago, Spurs will return to Premier League action on Monday evening when Fulham make the trip across the capital.
Losing against the Cottagers in the second round of the Carabao Cup at the end of August, Tottenham will be looking to get one over the west London club and achieve all three points in N17. So how exactly will they line up at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday?
Our football.london reporters have named the sides they believe Postecoglou will select for the game below.
Given a bit of a fright during the week with Son Heung-min spotted limping on international duty and Cristian Romero coming off early for Argentina, thankfully the pair are in a position to play for Spurs against Fulham. That means it is an easy decision for Postecoglou when it comes to selecting his XI, with potentially a question mark over just the one position.
That position is on the left of Spurs' front three as Richarlison and Brennan Johnson compete for the starting spot. As Postecoglou explained in his pre-match press conference that they need to assess the ex-Nottingham Forest man over the next two days following his recent hamstring injury, it makes sense for Richarlison to keep his place in the team.
Elsewhere, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg comes into the XI instead of Yves Bissouma as the Mali international is suspended for the game after his red card at Luton. Postecoglou did drop a very big hint in his press conference that the Dane will start, indicating that Hojbjerg is a «ready-made replacement» for his teammate.
