Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Mohamed Salah's fitness as the Premier League title race with Arsenal and Manchester City hots up.
He hinted that Salah might start the Europa League game against Sparta Prague on Thursday. It comes as Liverpool are carefully managing their top scorer's playing time after he recovered from a hamstring injury.
Salah had only made one substitute appearance for the Reds in two months before his return last week. He played briefly in the 5-1 victory over Prague in the Europa League round of 16 first leg.
The 31-year-old also came off the bench during the second half of the 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester City on Sunday. He might get more playing time in the second leg against Sparta.
This is ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final match against Manchester United, reports the Liverpool Echo. Klopp's side are currently second behind Arsenal and having a fit-again Salah will be a major boost in the final months of the season.
«I am not sure he is ready for 90 minutes or that we should do 90 minutes but he i ready to start,» said Klopp. «He would've been ready to start the last game but you don't know how long does it makes sense.
