But while Klopp was full of praise for a number of individual performances after the Reds’ latest win, he insisted he stopped being surprised by his squad’s high levels long ago as victory ensured Liverpool kept the pace at the top of the Premier League table on their return to action after the March international break.

“I saw a lot of special performances today,” he said. “Yes, Macca was incredible, absolutely incredible.
“But when you have that kind of talent, when you have that kind of character, then you should show that. That is Macca, he can do that so do it.
“That’s Conor (Bradley), that’s (Jarell) Quansah, that’s Wataru (Endo), that’s Dom (Szoboszlai). They are that good. That’s Joe Gomez. The boys are good so show it.
“Yes, I’m the biggest fan of these boys. But I stopped being surprised if they really perform at the highest level because it’s just I want them to do. When they do it, it’s fine.
“If they cannot do it and I think about why and how could we help, but when they do it, I’m not as surprised as others maybe. I’m just happy. The more often they can do it. Great game. In so many moments.
