Kemar Roofe shares Rangers penalty claim slideshow as striker lets pictures do the talking
The majority of the penalty controversy came at Tynecastle, but Kemar Roofe has been left wondering he didn't get one at Ibrox on Saturday.
Rangers went down 2-1 at home to Motherwell as Philippe Clement lost his first home match since taking charge of the Light Blues. But Celtic couldn't take advantage, as the ten-men lost 2-0 to Hearts on Sunday in a game that saw too universally accepted 'soft' penalties awarded and a hot disputed sending off. Celtic have appealed the red card shown to Yang, but Brendan Rodgers could be in trouble for questioning John Beaton's competence.
Roofe has been more subtle in his approach. The Gers hitman was introduced to try and salvage a point for the league leaders after Dan Casey had headed the Steelmen in front. The hosts had already been given a spot-kick to level things up after Stephen O'Donnell felled Fabio Silva in the area and after a second look on the monitor, ref Alan Muir awarded and James Tavernier scored.
Well defender Paul McGinn appeared to grab hold of Roofe from behind in an attempt to get a foot on the ball before the Jamaican manages to wriggle free, although by that time, the chance was pretty much gone. However, neither Muir or his colleagues in the VAR room saw anything untoward and play raged on.
Roofe clearly feels they should have. But rather than letting rip and leaving himself open to punishment, Roofe has taken to Instagram to share a series of five images, which as they progress, offer a slideshow like reel of the incident, which he presents without comment.
