According to The Athletic, LAFC have opened talks with AC Milan’s Olivier Giroud (37) over the potentiality of signing him in the summer transfer window. The France international’s contract is set to expire with Milan in June allowing him to discuss a pre-contract deal with clubs around the world.
This is not the first time that the 37-year-old has been linked with a move to North America. The former Chelsea and Arsenal striker was linked with moves to LA Galaxy and Toronto FC in the MLS before he signed for Milan in 2019. Despite LAFC being the first team to express a formal interest in signing him on a free transfer, Giroud has several options available to him, according to The Athletic.
The former Montpellier forward is set to take some time before making any rash or premature decision of where he will play his football next season. No decision is expected to be imminent while he ponders the options he has available to him. One potential option is that Giroud stays at Milan and signs a contract extension, The Athletic reports.
