Leandro Trossard scored Arsenal's opener against Burnley but may have done himself more damage than good in the process.
At a time when the Gunners were desperate to score, a cross into the box found Bukayo Saka, who managed to head back across the goal.
Rushing onto the loose ball was Trossard, who took one for the team as he threw himself forward to score but was clattered in the process.
As well as being chopped in half by Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, the Belgian also crashed into the post.
He went down clutching his shoulder, giving his manager Mikel Arteta a worried look on the sidelines.
But he was okay to continue after grabbing a much-needed goal just before half-time.
And Arsenal's medical department worked wonders on the forward as he made his way out for the second-half.
His goal came at a vital time for the Gunners, who had a turgid first-half display otherwise.
Burnley had done a fine job of keeping Mikel Arteta's men out until then, even having a couple of chances themselves that were well-saved by David Raya.
Kai Havertz had a golden chance to score from a corner but his header blazed well over the bar.
The Germany international has yet to score for Arsenal from open play but has netted a penalty so far after his £65million move from Chelsea in the summer.
But Trossard's sixth goal of the season in all competitions has given a lacklustre Emirates something to cheer about in the November sunshine.
Arsenal are looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after losing to Newcastle last week.
That was their first defeat in the league but Arteta is desperate to get them back on track and go one better than their title push last season and win it this season.
