Arsenal fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration after Leandro Trossard's goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
Mikel Arteta's side thought they had taken the lead in Saturday's tea-time kick-off against Brentford just before half time, when the Belgian followed up Gabriel Jesus' saved effort from Mark Flakken.
The Gunners celebrated what they thought was the opener, but after a VAR check the goal was ruled out down to Trossard being adjudged to being in a marginally offside position.
The decision caused much debate from the pundits watching the game and across social media, where Arsenal supporters were quick to post their disapproval of the disallowed goal.
'Trossard robbed, @FA_PGMOL at it again. The agenda continues.' One fan wrote in anger, believing their team was denied a goal that would have seen them take the lead against the Bees.
Whereas another blames the actual offside rule itself rather than the decision made by the VAR officials, stating: 'Offside rule is nonsensical. There’s no advantage gained in that situation man.'
Although, there were some others who still doubted the decision, especially given the camera angle they had, and called for semi-automatic offsides to be introduced to stop the debates on offside calls.
'Are you telling me that was the ONLY camera angle they had?' The bemoaned on X.
'No way you can actually tell from that, getting semi-automatic offside decisions from the world cup immediately.'
Some fans even went into delirium over the decision, after not understanding how this was given, but Antony Gordon's controversial goal against the Gunners at Newcastle earlier this month was allowed.
