Manchester United's recent meltdown has left Liverpool fan Danny Murphy gleeful after he had to deal with their past dominance.
The former midfielder played for Liverpool from 1997 to 2004 when their rivals United were the undisputed giants of English football.
Across those seven years, the Red Devils won four Premier League titles and two FA Cups, as well as the Champions League.
United's 1998/99 season also saw them win their iconic treble, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side by far and away the best side in the country.
Murphy, who scored a famous free-kick at Old Trafford in a 1-0 victory in 2000, still won two domestic and two European trophies at Liverpool.

«I like to see a competitive Premier League and Manchester United being competitive adds to that but if anyone was to fail, yeah, I have to admit, I like it being them.»
Earlier on in the show and before they crashed out of the Carabao Cup with 3-0 defeat at home to Newcastle, Murphy assessed why United have been so poor of late.
