Jamie Carragher has slammed the decision to send off Marcus Rashford during Manchester United’s Champions League clash with F.C. Copenhagen.
A brace from summer signing Rasmus Hojlund gave United a 2-0 lead. However, Rashford was given his marching orders following a VAR review just before the break.
Referee Donatas Rumsas was sent over to the monitor after the England international lost control of the ball and caught Elias Jelert on the leg. And following a review, Rumsas returned and showed Rashford a straight red card.

The United star did not complain as he made his way off the pitch, but Carragher, writing on social media, believes the match officials made the wrong call in sending the United forward off.
He wrote on X: “No way is that a red card for Rashford! Hate these slow motion replays & still images that make everything look 10 times worse."
However, speaking on TNT Sports, Robbie Savage believes the right call was made. He said: "That, for me, is a red card. Initially, I thought he just turned, but I think that is a red card.
“When you see it from that other angle - he has gone to protect the ball, and by doing that, he has stamped on his shin and that is 100% a red card.”
A few minutes after the sending-off, Copenhagen got themselves back into the match after former Southampton man Mohamed Elyounoussi finished off a fine move before the hosts drew level when Diogo Goncalves struck in first-half stoppage time.
