Ian Doyle - Salah rested and Trent in midfield
Some people think the League Cup is better than the FA Cup, which is of course incorrect. Mind you, the competition will be missing a trick next season if it doesn't use neutral venues for their new one-off semi-final ties.
But it's this year's last four that Liverpool will be aiming for when they entertain West Ham United this evening. What, then, is Jurgen Klopp to do?
Lack of availability means he may end up going a lot stronger than may otherwise have been anticipated. However, Caoimhin Kelleher will be in goal. I'd have Joe Gomez at right-back, with Virgil van Dijk still skippering the team and Jarell Quansah coming in alongside him at centre-back. Kostas Tsimikas is the left-back.

And it's time for Trent Alexander-Arnold to have a proper go in midfield, where he can be alongside Wataru Endo in a 4-2-3-1. That can leave Dominik Szoboszlai as the number 10.
Up top, Cody Gakpo can have a go on the left wing, with Darwin Nunez down the middle and Harvey Elliott on the right.

Paul Gorst - Diaz gets a breather
This is one of the trickiest selections of the season for Jurgen Klopp. With the last four within touching distance - to play one of Chelsea, Middlesbrough or Fulham, the Reds must be tempted to go strong.
But, on the flip side, there is the prospect of Arsenal to come on Saturday and the chance to lead the Premier League at Christmas. Decisions, decisions then.
