AS IT HAPPENED: Liverpool vs Man City goals and highlights
Caoimhin Kelleher 7
Beat out De Bruyne piledriver and saved another effort from Haaland first half. No chance with goal and strong to repel Foden after break.
Conor Bradley 7
Defended doggedly and twice found himself in good positions inside the City box first half, and should have done better with the second. Subbed.
Jarell Quansah 7
Wasn’t perturbed by the City attack and showed good strength and composure, particularly when faced by Haaland. Forced save from Ortega second half.
Virgil van Dijk 7
Aside from one momentarily lapse when dispossessed by Haaland, a good defensive display with some important interventions. Asked a lot of team-mates with some passes second half, however.
Joe Gomez 6
Struggled alarmingly up against Foden in the first quarter although responded slightly before break. Switched to right-back on the hour and far more comfortable.
Wataru Endo 7
Lost De Bruyne a few too many times first half when attempting to press high, which wasn’t always wise. Chose moments better as game progressed and started to regain possession regularly.
Dominik Szoboszlai 6
Attempts to lead Liverpool press failed early on, later improved but sent good chance over with header and one free-kick saved. Subbed.
Alexis Mac Allister 8
