Liverpool midfielder Ceri Holland will miss this weekend's clash with Leicester City as she continues her recovery from a calf injury.
The 25-year-old picked up a knock in Wales' UEFA Nations League defeat to Germany last week and returned to Merseyside to undergo further assessment. An MRI scan revealed that Holland hadn't suffered long-term damage but manager Matt Beard has now confirmed the issue is serious enough to see the midfielder sidelined for Sunday's meeting with the Foxes.
"She won’t be fit for this weekend but she’ll probably be fit next week," the Liverpool boss said. "That’s positive news. Obviously it’s a blow to lose her because she’s had a great start to the season but this is something that happens on a regular basis post international camps."

Holland's absence does open the door for Missy Bo Kearns to stake a claim for a starting berth against Leicester. The Allerton-born midfielder has primarily featured in an attacking role for Beard's side this term but this weekend could see her return to her favoured position in the middle of the park.
"Missy Bo was unlucky not to start the last game (against West Ham)," Beard said. "She’s done well for us up front but she’s a great player. She’s really excelled in the England Under-23 camps. Obviously being captain there as well has given her that extra bit of responsibility and she’s done really well.
"It’s great to have the strength and depth within the squad. We lose players and we’ve got quality players that can step in so from that perspective that’s why we’ve built what we’ve built in the off season."
