ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL — They may have managed just one point from their two games prior to the international break, but Liverpool can have few complaints over their start to this new season.
Inside the top four and just three points off top spot in the Premier League, the Reds appear to be firmly back on track after a woeful 2022-23 campaign.
Of course, the form book is often said to go out of the window when it comes to derbies, and that's what makes today's meeting with rivals Everton at Anfield so intriguing.
That said, the Toffees have only won once here since 1999 — in an empty stadium due to Covid restrictions — and so victory would represent something of a shock.
