John Terry admits having regrets over the way he treated Mohamed Salah when Liverpool star was at Chelsea
John Terry has described Mohamed Salah's Chelsea struggles as a personal regret after watching the Egyptian go on to become a huge success at Liverpool.
Salah endured a difficult two years at Stamford Bridge that brought just two goals and four assists in 19 appearances in all competitions. He was among the players who struggled with Chelsea but have since gone on to taste success away from West London, one of which includes Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne went in search of first-team opportunities - joining VfL Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga - where he eventually earned his return to the Premier League.
Salah's journey back to the English top-flight saw him spend time in Serie A with Fiorentina and AS Roma before joining Jurgen Klopp's side, where he has since gone on to score 194 more goals than he achieved in London.
Terry, who was the captain at Stamford Bridge during Salah's time at Chelsea, admitted there was "no chance" he could foresee the success the pair have enjoyed.
"It's my one disappointment as captain because I think I adapted over time, when those guys were there I was probably very strong, and very disciplined on the group," he said speaking on the Obi One podcast.
