Luis Diaz's partner has sent a heartfelt message after the Liverpool forward starred in Colombia's comeback win over Brazil.
The 26-year-old returned to his native country for the first time since his father, Luis Manuel Diaz, was kidnapped and subsequently released after 12 days. The horrifying ordeal led to Diaz missing two Liverpool outings before scoring on his return to the squad against Luton Town.
Mane Diaz was released at the beginning of November after being taken by masked men. At the beginning of the international break, the Reds attacker reunited with his family and days later netted twice past club teammate Alisson Becker to secure an emotional and famous win for Colombia over their South American rivals.

Diaz nodded home late in a four-minute salvo to turn the clash on its head. Footage showed his father watching on, celebrating erratically on an emotional night for those connected with the family.
Among the Diaz family in Barranquilla was the Liverpool forward's partner Gera Ponce and his daughter, who later starred alongside her father during his post-match interview.
Following the ordeal and the toll it likely had taken on Diaz, he was sent a heartfelt message on Instagram which translated to: "We knew that this was going to be a special game, but God in his perfection made it an unforgettable moment for Luis, me and our family.
