Alisson Becker unsurprisingly got the nod between the sticks and continues to be a player of significant importance to Jurgen Klopp's side. Another expected selection was Virgil van Dijk, who was given the nod to feature in the heart of defence by Diaz.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was next to be chosen in the squad of the former Porto star, which will come as no surprise to most supporters. Things then got interesting as the attacking picks were made by the 26-year-old, who opted for Shaqiri instead of Salah when deciding on his frontline.
Though a player capable of producing a magical moment, Shaqiri making the cut ahead of Mane and Salah will certainly leave eyebrows raised. The final name to complete this team was Kenny Dalglish, whose Anfield playing days were over
