Luis Suarez can’t even play football with his son but will play through pain for Lionel Messi reunion

Luis Suarez is reportedly finalising a deal to sign a one-year contract with Inter Miami in a move that will see him reunite with Lionel Messi.

The Uruguayan enjoyed huge success with the World Cup winner during their days at Barcelona, winning four LaLiga titles and a Champions League in six years (2014-20).

Both players are in the twilight years of their respective careers at 36 years old but they're set for one final adventure together. Suarez will also reunite with former Barca teammates Sergio Busequets and Jordi Alba.

The Athletic, who broke the story, says nothing is sorted yet as clubs are only allowed three Designated Players — on their roster whose salaries exceed the league's Maximum Salary Budget charge, which this year was at $651,250.

However, it's understood Major League Soccer will discuss potential roster rule changes this winter.

Messi, Busquets and Brazilian defender Gregore finished last season as Miami’s DPs, though Miami can buy down Gregore to free up a spot if they so choose.

Should Suarez's Miami move materialise, his son, may feel somewhat aggrieved given the former Liverpool forward's inability to enjoy a kickabout with him.
