Neil McCann believes John Lundstram should NOT have been punished for handball.
The Rangers midfielder was deemed to have handled in the box early on at Rugby Park with David Dickinson pointing to the spot with Danny Armstrong making no mistake as he fired beyond Jack Butland. Philippe Clement's side rallied back in the second half with two goals in four minutes from James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence securing what could prove a massive win for the Ibrox men after Celtic thrashed Dundee 7-1 at Parkhead.
However, it is the nature of the opening goal from 12-yards that has left BBC Sportscene pundit McCann scratching his head as he delivered his verdict on the award of the spot-kick. He explained: "I know this is given as a penalty. No hesitation there in pointing to the spot. But I don't think it is.
"His elbow is tucked in. It's impact and then the arm comes away. I don't know what John Lundstram is supposed to do with his elbow. It is tucked in. Danny Armstrong though when he is given the opportunity finds the back of the net."
Fellow pundit and former Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell was also in the studio with skipper Tavernier coming in for praise as he sparked the comeback. But McCann was also left impressed by Lawrence, who he believes epitomises the intensity on show from Clement's table toppers.
Bell said: "They were slow and a little bit laboured in the first half. You rely on your captain. For me, Will Dennis gets a decent hand on it and will be disappointed but take nothing away from James Tavernier, it is a fantastic free-kick at a big moment in the game."
