Match conditions
Following the cancellation of their pre-season friendly against Leicester City due to the deluge of rain in Bangkok, sunshine greeted Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham players on Monday as they returned to the training pitch. Now on the last leg of their summer tour, Spurs are now in Singapore ahead of Wednesday's friendly vs Lion City Sailors.
Unable to get match minutes in on Sunday, the Spurs players instead got some pitch time as they took part in a full 11-a-side training match at Lion City Sailors' base. The players split into two sides, with the starting XI due to take on Leicester wearing the green bibs and the substitutes from the match decked out in the club's blue training shirt.
It was very much treated as a proper match with the players all wearing their shin pads and having their socks pulled up as opposed to some training matches you see where it's fairly relaxed. The players were certainly taking it seriously and doing everything to win, with one clip on Spurs' official website showing a couple of players shouting for handball against Son Heung-min following James Maddison's goal.
It was the blue team who prevailed in the end with a 2-1 victory.

Much will be expected of Maddison in the final third in the 2023/24 season after posting some very impressive numbers for Leicester City over the years. Starting in the 3-2 defeat against West Ham, the England international showed some nice touches in his time on the pitch but opportunities on goal were few and far between.
