Madrid could miss out on Davies for €20m
Alphonso Davies is drifting further and further away from Bayern. His agent recently came down hard on the German club, accusing them of having given the player an ultimatum over his renewal.
The waters are troubled in Munich and Real Madrid are taking advantage of this to try to sign the defender. According to 'AS', there is already an agreement between the Spanish side and Davies. The only thing missing is the agreement between the clubs.
Real Madrid intend to offer 25 million euros for the left-back. At most, they would be willing to put 30 million euros on the table. And here come the problems because Bayern refuse to let him go for less than 50 million euros.
Davies is determined to swap Munich for Madrid. To stay at Bayern, he would have asked to keep his salary of 20 million euros gross per season, which the German club are not willing to pay.
Bayern and Real Madrid could be doomed to understand each other. The defender's contract with the Munich outfit expires in 2025, which means that if he does not agree to renew, this summer would be the last great opportunity to earn money with his transfer.
The Spanish club's plan is to repeat the formula they once used with Toni Kroos. The German joined Real Madrid in 2014 for 25 million euros with a year left on his contract at Bayern.
The Spanish side know that time is on their side. Bayern, if they want Davies to stay, will have to pay the player the 20 million euros he is demanding.
